Again, what problems are you having which you think might be resolved by installing KB955704 manually? Is KB955704 or any other updates offered when you run a manual check for updates? The above questions notwithstanding. The WinXP computer should NOT be connected to the internet or any other computers. All of your personal data (e.g., online banking & credit-card passwords) should be considered at-risk, if not already compromised.

-- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) Microsoft MVP (Windows Client) since October 2002. I'm having the exact same problem, did anyone find a link for this (or can any microsoft mod just email me the file). As to answer the questions posed above, I have an XP netbook which is never connected to the internet (used for word processing only for onsite jobs where internet is not available) and I recently purchased a 64gb SD card to move the data to a home computer. I understand that microsoft will not continue to support xp and make it compatible with all new technologies etc. But is there any reason that a pre-existing patch for a basic hardware that was released years ago can't be maintained!
Is it the 10 cents of server space to host a less than 1 mb file! I bought my netbook 5 years ago, and arguably since windows 10 came out there was no other viable windows update that could be considered an improvement, and now my netbook does not have the specs for windows 10 and I am on a tight budget without the ability to purchase a new one currently. I did not purchase windows XP with the expectation that after 5 years all old patches and support would be retroactively made inaccessible. Please do not throw loyal consumers under the bus and fix this link!
